Shanghai Pudong Software Park unveiled its low-altitude economy industry service platform on Dec 19, marking a pivotal step in integrating resources and building a robust ecosystem for drone-related technologies.

The platform is set to act as an incubator for technological innovation, a testing ground for new applications, and an accelerator for business growth in the low-altitude sector.

The software park has attracted nearly 60 companies involved in the low-altitude industry, ranging from basic chips and sensors to navigation and data infrastructure, fostering a collaborative development environment.

Nie Ying, general manager of Shanghai Pudong Software Park Co Ltd, noted that the platform will capitalize on the area's geographical and industrial advantages to build a full-cycle innovation loop from research and development to market application. It aims to foster enterprise clustering along upstream and downstream industries, establish a collaborative innovation network linking enterprises, universities, research institutes, and investors, and promote a new development model based on shared technology, facilities, and markets.

At the launch ceremony, Shanghai Pudong Software Park Sanlin Park Development Co Ltd signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of China.

The partnership will focus on the co-building of low-altitude exhibition halls, industrial investment, chain collaboration, and talent cultivation, addressing critical aspects of industry collaboration and upgrading.

The event also saw the opening of the Shanghai Pudong Software Park Low-Altitude Economy Exhibition Hall, Pudong New Area's first comprehensive industry exhibition hall centered on the low-altitude economy.

The facility integrates technology display, industry incubation, and ecological cooperation, offering a multifaceted view of innovation achievements and development prospects in the sector.

"The experimental space provided by Pudong is invaluable for our company," said Li Yutao, vice general manager of Shanghai Xianfeiyi Aviation Technology Co Ltd, which specializes in drone-based curtain wall cleaning R&D. "While manual cleaning of one square meter takes several minutes, a drone can clean 100 square meters in just three minutes."

Sanlin Park, where the company is located, has opened its office buildings for scenario testing, facilitating the rapid application and commercialization of innovations, according to Li.

The park has also established a training flight airspace zone with a 500-meter radius, allowing specific drone models to conduct training flights below 100 meters, according to Sun Degong, general manager of the park.

Serving as a core base for the development of a low-altitude R&D and test flight demonstration zone, Sanlin Park incorporates crucial function components such as the low-altitude economy incubator.

On the same day, seven companies, including Linyang Aviation Technology (Shanghai) Co Ltd, became the first to join the park's low-altitude incubator. Their operations cover infrastructure construction, intelligent aircraft development, satellite application, and low-altitude tourism investment, enriching the industrial spectrum and laying a solid foundation for transforming innovative achievements.

The "Shanghai Pudong Software Park-Funtastic Drone Pudong Training Base" was also inaugurated by the software park and Shanghai Funtastic Aviation Technology Co Ltd to provide professional drone technology training, practical assessments, and certification of professional qualifications.
